Our World, our United States is currently chaotic, heartbreaking, cruel, senseless and nothing we have ever seen before. Yes, our world has experienced severe challenges, major wars and great suffering throughout history on its road to democracies, global alliances, international laws, global free trade, and sovereign boundaries creating a foundational framework and expectation for further progress as humanity progresses. Now we appear to be falling back into “might makes right” as Oligarchs, Autocrats, and the Uber Rich reap almost all the rewards of ever greater wealth being created in businesses through innovations and the minerals being extracted from our earth to fuel our new technologies.

Watching the death toll rise in Iran, the starvation/homelessness continue in Gaza, the ongoing political and human disaster in Sudan, the U.S. blowing up small boats in the Caribbean while providing no evidence of the alleged drugs, the removal of the President of Venezuela with no Congressional declaration of war or UN authorization, ICE rounding up brown people and whoever is in their way in our cities without warrants or due process, Federal officers resorting to murdering Americans in the streets and so much more, how do we take in this reality of destruction and violence facing us day by day? No majority of Americans voted for this shocking violation of our people, our Constitutionally guaranteed rights or our role as a global force for peace and democracy.

It’s all more than an open hearted, decent person can bear without despair, fear and anger overtaking us. Yet, the genuine heart break we feel can be the fertile ground for the alchemy of transforming pain into resilience, courage, clarity of purpose, compassion for ourselves and others followed by contributing what we are able to offer right now from the smallest act to the greatest. This doesn’t negate the pain and heartbreak, it does fuel the rising of a tide of active, hopeful, fearless, conscious engagement with our individual potential and the potential of a better future for us all.

While it appears, humanity is sliding backwards into a world we thought or hoped we had mostly left behind a world we expected to continue to improve, this is the very time we are moving toward a wholly new, never before experienced, humane, sustainable, heart centered world. The old world is cracking, failing, dying right in front of us as our institutions, national and international, are decaying allowing them to be corrupted or ignored by those who see and grab advantages in this unstable period.

It is now the Age of the People not of Founders or Saviors. The Age of Aquarius is an age founded on individuation (not individualism) and collaboration; it is horizontal as we work together not vertical where we wait for or succumb to a leader to be told what we can or cannot do; its power with not power over; it is heart centered compassionate action not ego centered “it’s not happening to me”. We are the ones who can, who are, who will imagine/envision the world we are birthing, will join to build it person to person, city to city, nationally then globally. In US cities people are supporting each other, protecting each other, joining together, then other cities are importing that model and improving it. Citizens are speaking clearly stating their love for, appreciation of their immigrant neighbors and friends. Europe is collaborating with Ukraine providing weapons and diplomacy, sending military support to Greenland as the people of Greenland stand firm in their own independence and self-determination. The new world is being born and We The People are birthing it with Love and whistles.
